Not What but Whom

2 Timothy 1:16 "For this reason I also suffer these things, nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day."

The focus of faith is knowing in WHOM we believe, not only WHAT we believe. Faith is more than understanding a particular promise. Faith is knowing Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

Hebrew 12:2a "Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith."

Focusing on the person behind the promise more than the promise itself takes the focus away from ourselves, and the circumstances which helps us aim for the solution - Jesus!

This text notes a faith that centers in whom we believe. Vital faith rests in Him.

Hebrew 4:9-10 "There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10. For He who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His."

Just as God rested from His works of creation, the one who trusts in Christ rests in what God has done for him. He has ceased striving to achieve salvation by his own efforts, and in daily life has begun to learn a dependence upon the Holy Spirit`s help. This walk in dependence of the Holy Spirit reveals a heart that is focused upon Jesus. Again I am reminded of the principal of what you sow you will reap. When we walk in the Spirit in dependence, we will reap of Heavens abundance and not of earths fallen nature!

John 15:4 "Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself, it must remain in the Vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me."

It is very interesting to see that we do not bear any fruit by ourselves. All has to be through Jesus. By the Spirit we learn dependence on Jesus and to wait upon Him, in which the Spirit brings forth much fruit. All the fruit that comes from the Spirit is of eternal matter and will last, all that comes from ourselves is of temporal matter and will not last. Therefore yield to the Holy Spirit in utter dependence upon Him.

All Good Things

John 15:7 "If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you."  This is a strong promise from the One we shall fix our eyes upon. Do you see how everything flows out of intimacy with Jesus?  To worship Him should be natural for us to do, both in heart, in words, in mind and in action! If you feel that nothing is happening in your walk as a Christian, then tell the Lord that you want to learn to worship Him with a whole heart and with all that you are! He is faithful and true and you will start to experience what true intimacy with Jesus is about!

As I write I see gifts from heaven coming down, and I think of the word that says, "all good things come from above!"

Romans 8:38-39 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 "neither height nor depth, nor anything else in ALL creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

We can trust the Lord as He promises that nothing can separate us from Him. What a promise to hold fast and build upon in our daily walk with Him. Again, God is good and always faithful. And all His promises are Yes and Amen in Jesus!!!!! Did you get that it said: "Nor anything else in ALL CREATION could separate us from the love of God?"  That speaks volume of the love God has for us!

Ask God to fill you with His love so much that you will be able to give it to the next person you meet. That will create in you a river of love that leads other people into His divine love.

Faith is the outflow of a continual walk with Jesus, knowing Him - in Whom we believe. Let the river flow!

Love and much grace.
