Truly mature sons and daughters of a household enjoy all of the privileges attributed to the father and mother. We are joint heirs with Jesus the Christ and heirs of God to all acquired by Jesus in in his birth out of death unto life.

The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. Romans 8:16-17 NASB

To become a legitimate heir of a household, one has to only be born into that household. When Jesus was birthed out of death unto life He became an heir of all things pertaining to the household of God. In our birth out of death into life by faith we too are joint heirs to all things pertaining to life and godliness. Our new birth grants us an opportunity to walk in a glorious relationship with our Heavenly Father. As we walk with our heavenly Father in an ever-growing relationship unto maturity there are indescribable benefits made available to every new member of the household of God.

Anointing…a Heart Lubrication

Our relationship with God is called an anointing. The titles Messiah and Christ both mean in their root meanings to rub with oil.

Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. Ezekiel 36:26-27 NASB

The name and title Jesus Christ actually means "Yahweh saves through the anointing." Salvation in its fullest comes through a relationship with our God of salvation. As we get to know our Father maturity becomes obvious as we see the fruit of our heir ship revealed for the entire world to see.

Moving into Maturity and Maturities Glorious Benefits

The Book of Hebrews declares that maturity is acquired through an anointed life with God. In the ongoing righteous exercising of our spiritual senses through obedience, completing the sufferings necessary, perfection or maturity is acquired.

We see that even Jesus learned obedience from the things which He suffered. Jesus having suffered being tempted overcame every challenge so as to walk consistently in maturity. I must emphasize that as Jesus learned obedience we too must walk in his footsteps in coming into maturity.

Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. And having been made perfect (mature), He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation, being designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 5:8 NASB

Jesus is the Forerunner as a Melchizedek Priest

…where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:20 NASB

We are called to be "aft runners" having all the benefits of this Melchizedek priesthood. As Melchizedek priests we have arrived as life giving advocates of life eternal. We are functioning in the power of an endless life…free from sin.

We are called as is Jesus to give life eternal. Eternal is the everlasting nature of God and has nothing to do with the measuring of time or the absence of time. The eternal nature is that God is full of life and time. Since my Father God is full of time, and I am His son and one with Him…I will never run out of time. Praise God forevermore!

Dullness of Hearting…Enemy of Maturity

Dullness of hearing is one and the same as hardening of the heart. This demonic grip on mankind is caused by failure to practice God! There is a revelatory regression from maturity to ignorance if we fail to exercise our spiritual senses in obedience to God.

Concerning him (Jesus) we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing (hardened of heart). For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles (first and priority word) of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to (ignorant of) the word of righteousness (doing faith), for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil. Hebrews 5:8-14 NASB

Practicing all five of our senses (seeing, hearing, touching, tasting and smelling) in doing the will of God delivers us from dullness of hearing. Dullness of hearing is a hardening of the heart. A hard heart can only be softened by an anointed relationship with our Heavenly Father.

Teachings About the Anointing

Teachings about the anointing (Hebrews 6:1) are the same as the "doctrines of Christ." Jesus the Christ is the already laid foundation of the Church. All true Church members are to function in the anointing, which defined is an ongoing relationship with God our Father.

The Greek word for church is ekklesia (ek-klay-see'-ah), which means called out ones. Only in an anointed relationship with God Who is the anointing can we hear God's voice and carry out His will.

Astounding Life Producing Actions of a Mature Church

Therefore leaving (not sending away) the elementary (the first word) teaching about the Christ (anointing), let us press on to maturity, not laying (casting down or destroying) again a foundation of (1) repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, (2) of instruction about washings (3) and laying on of hands, (4) and the resurrection of the dead (5) and eternal judgment. Hebrews 6:1-2 NASB

The writer of Hebrews here says that those who are dull of hearing and immature must stop sending away the first or priority words or teachings concerning the anointing. By heeding this call out of dullness of hearing we can press on to maturity or perfection. If there is not a pressing on to maturity we destroy the very foundation of Christianity, which is Jesus the Anointed.

Mature Christians Exercise the Following Five Truths

A mature relationship with our Heavenly Father (called the anointing) empowers us to successfully do the following foundational aspects of the teaching on the anointing.
  • In the anointing we are not casting down or destroying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God.
How wonderful is it that we as anointed sons of God are empowered to consistently turn from dead works? In having the faith of God we are always producing live works. We are all called to produce life. Life is in His word of faith given to us to share with others in order for all of mankind to fully enjoy our inheritance in the household of God.
  • In the anointing we are not casting down or destroying again the foundation of instruction about baptisms.
Biblical baptisms are all for the purpose of immersing one into a greater depth of God's light; the purpose being to dispel darkness.

The first Biblical baptism happened to a dark and chaotic earth. God said, "Let there be light" and the earth came forth in a glorious display of the glory of God. The second major baptism came in the days of Noah when God immersed a dark and sinful world into water. All sin and darkness was removed from the earth leaving only eight righteous enlightened humans.

How wonderful is it to know that God is in the midst of all our challenges empowering us for the purpose of producing life in all of mankind.

The Apostle Paul wrote that those who truly believe in a present tense resurrection will present themselves to the baptisms which God chooses for the benefit of the dead.

Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them? 1 Corinthians 15:29 NASB

Paul here is talking about you and me bringing the dead in sin to a place of deadness to sin. We as mature Christians are called to dispel darkness with the light obtained through our ordained baptisms. Again God's anointing empowers us to successfully negotiate His light and life giving immersions in order to impart life to the world.
  • In the anointing we are not casting down or destroying again the foundation of the laying on of hands.
Note that we have turned from dead works and are functioning in the faith of God. God's word of faith immerses us into a place of baptisms imparting the very substance of life eternal. We now are in a position to lay hands on others in order to impart the anointed life so graciously imparted to us by faith unto baptisms.
The laying on of hands in order to give life is an agreement with God. It is a covenant with God that Jesus the Christ our sacrificial lamb is sufficient in power in bringing life to dead situations.

How wonderful is it to know that by the anointed relationship granted us by God we are empowered to lay hands on mankind? In our mature understanding of the power in Christ we can bring healing to a dark, sick and dying world.
  • In the anointing we are not casting down or destroying again the foundation of the resurrection of the dead.
In the anointing we have thus far discovered that we can operate in faith, being led into and out of the baptisms which He chooses for us. We know that we have the power to lay hands on people and impart light and life…thus the foundation of resurrection of the dead.
A mature church is walking in a present tense resurrection. We have been immersed into the body of Jesus, in his baptism of death. We by faith are dead to sin. If we are dead to sin and the wages of sin are death then we must be alive by his resurrection power. We the mature church are now walking in newness of life.

Jesus left no disclaimers in His advent implying that something else remained to happen in order for the church to walk in a now resurrection. The Apostle Paul spent the whole 15th chapter of I Corinthians in rebuking the Corinth church for not believing in the resurrection of the dead…present tense.

How wonderful is it to know that through our anointed relationship with God our Father we can turn from works of death, have the faith of God empowering us into and out of baptisms, and imparting resurrection life to mankind?

We must know that we can walk forever as we use the power given to us to righteously choose this teaching about the anointing.
  • In the anointing we are not casting down or destroying again the foundation of eternal judgment.
In the western mindset the word judgment conjures up negative thoughts. As a teaching for the church about the anointing eternal judgment must have something to do with our capacity to judge. The Greek word for judgment is better translated as choice. Eternal judgment is translated as a choice for eternity. Eternity is not a measurable time frame. God is full of time and His time cannot be measured. Eternal is best understood as the nature of God.

We can now say that in our anointing we are empowered to choose the nature of God. Again everything that God represents is summed up in His nature, which is life.

How wonderful is it that we who are empowered by the anointing can now and forever choose the everlasting nature of God?

Let Us Exercise

The called out anointed Church of our Living God is realizing that all that this article represents will continue to be revealed in the earth to the glory of God. Only those believers who understand and exercise teachings about the anointing will be called the mature Church of Christ Jesus! These mature ones display the love of God in profound ways. In exercising the voice of God in the teachings about the anointing love is perfected. Those who keep the voice of God walk in mature love. The greatest fruit of maturity is LOVE.

May God's anointing oil of gladness continue to empower you into a "christed" life.
