Genesis 1:3 "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."

I want to focus on a simple three-word phrase: "Let there be." We serve a mighty and all-powerful God. As He speaks the words, "Let there be" into your circumstances it will be so. His words have unlimited creative power! Take the Apostle Peter for example - as the Lord spoke the word "come," Peter actually believed he could do what Jesus said, and as a result he walked on water! The water was actually transformed into a sidewalk by God's creative power. When I began to contemplate Genesis 1:3, I came to the conclusion that even our worst conceivable dilemmas are no challenge for Him at all. In fact, God never wrings His hands or wonders what to do next. His point of view is much higher than ours; all He has to do is utter those three simple words, and it will be so. If God can create the heavens and the earth in six short days, and turn water into a sidewalk He can certainly rescue you from seemingly impossible circumstances.

Many Christians have come to believe that their troubles are bigger than God, because the devil has deceived them into believing God is a million miles away and powerless to help them, or that He doesn't care enough to move on their behalf. Don't fall for the devil's lies! In these last days he's running to and fro like a roaring lion, attempting to steal our hope and faith in our amazingly powerful God.

Our world is cold, complicated, and confusing. It's all too easy to rely on our own abilities to solve our problems. But in our own power, we will never come to a place of rest. We can get there only by relying on God, who reveals Himself as faithful, which, in turn increases our faith, so that we're convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that He will come through as we believe and speak His promises into our lives. This increasing revelation ultimately brings us to a place of continual rest, found nowhere else. People and material things let us down; it's only when we trust in Him that we can choose to rest knowing He has the situation well in hand and will work all things out for our good.

Only Believe

"Never let the devil get you down when God is working in and for you." - John W. Follette

Perhaps you're facing trouble in some area of your life. Maybe it involves your family, finances, work, or health. Perhaps you're struggling to get control over an addiction. If that describes you, I want to encourage you to search the Word for promises you can meditate on day and night, so that they become part of your belief system.

If you're in this place it's important not to give up or lose hope, or stay discouraged. He has heard and is moving on your behalf, but an important part of this process is being stretched to believe when the going gets tough. Wait patiently before Him, and begin to speak His promises over your challenges, and stand in faith, no matter how things look to your physical eyes. When you choose to believe when circumstances don't agree, God is pleased, and will turn around for good what the enemy has meant for your harm. Instead of getting into fear, start praising Him ahead of time, for faith always gets into praise, before it can see a single sign of the answer. No matter what the issue, God is as big as you believe He is, and will move in signs and wonders if you choose to only believe. In fact, what we believe, whether good or bad, limits God in ways nothing else can, so let's stretch those boundaries and set God free by our faith, to do what looks impossible! The incredible truth is that God's hand is already upon you. He is speaking forth the Word over you right now, so get on board, and believe what God has said about you. Only believe!

Word in Season

Just yesterday I was driving my very noisy car that I cannot even get an appointment to have fixed because those faithful know how little I have had and how long it is going on. They (the few) have been generous and patient and ran out, but I can not and will not give up on God. Without Him I can do no thing.

So I chose to put on my sunglasses. roll down the window, turn up the praise music and sing over the muffler. My heart praying that it all will stay in one piece and that all will have peace. The peace of God that passes All understanding. The Prince Himself, who is Peace... lives in me. Praise Him, Praise God, Thanks be to The Holy Spirit who rides with me. He has to, He leads. I guess then it is I riding with Him. Amen.
